excited about grocery shopping? what?!

okay, i just have to share.
i started taking the strategic shopping small group. so far we have only met twice....but just going is making me more aware of HOW i shop for food. this week i didn't buy but just a couple of things that weren't on sale. my best finds:
1) the 7 bags of reese's minis that i scored for 0.94 ea. woo-hoo!!! they were 1/2 off (valentines) and then SOME of the bags (the ones i bought) had additional 0.75 off coupons ON THE BAGS!!! yay!!! i was beside myself!!
2) the 3.5 lbs. of bananas for 0.94...they are a little brown...but OHHHH how yummy will they be in banana bread?
3) the BAG of bell peppers for 0.99!! i use those things ALL the TIME!!
4) cans of CAMPELLS cream of mushroom soup for .39 ea...yeah they are a little banged up....but it all tastes the same.
and then i had a few things that were BOGO and i had coupons....yay!!! so overall i SAVED $66.00...i still have a lot of learning to do....but that is WAY more than i usually save in one week. anyhoo....i'm not sure that anyone will be ontersted....but i wanted to share it with the world!!! haha!!!

just a funny boy

so...many of you know that we have been needing a new dryer for a LONG TIME. we just decided to wait to see how long the onld one would last and save a little $$$.... haha! seriously people this was a NEED not a want....metal on metal squealing the ENTIRE drying cycle = NEED a new dryer. haha!!! well , we got one last weekend. it was sucha blessing!! we compared the prices of several different stores and settled on which one we were going to buy from...the difference was only $30...but hey every little bit helps! well, when we walked into the store....they had a FLOOR SAMPLE!!!! ON SALE!!! (do you hear the angels?) so we ended up paying $140 LESS than we had planned!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! so we got that sat.
onto the funny part of my entry. (hang in there i do have a point) i have begun attending a small groupl w/ our church. "strategic spending"...it is WONDERFUL!! all about how we are to be good stewards with what God gives us....and one of the things the leader "reccommends" is having a freezer. well, i remembered that my sweet daddy has one sitting in his basement....so the day we got the dryer we went to get the dryer. it felt like Christmas!!! i was so excited!!! well, apparently my enthusiasum has rubbed off on MAC! haha!!! today we were do some "schoolwork"...we were working on some pre-writing...he got bored with it.....so the kid LOVES to glue things.....so i drew out some shapes and let him glue macoroni noodles on the shape. he kept referring to the noodles as "gold" or "treasure".....(we are in a pirate phase)....so while he was working on one of the shapes i drew out a little "scene" ....a treasure chest on the beach w/ some trees...blah blah. so he can glue the "treasure" to it.... well my drawing skills aren't that great but they really aren't this bad either!!!...so i get done with the "drawing"

MAC goes: "ooohhh! mommy! what's that?"

me "what does it look like to you?"

MAC: "A FREEZER!!!!"

HAHAHAHAAH!!!! i just thought tooo funny NOT to share!!
i should go. my buddy is a little under the weather this week...so he has been wanting to "snuggle"...i have to enjoy it while i can.
