Amazing Experience

i don't know how many of you have ever been to an "Air Show".....but we were able to attend the Naval Air show, last night. it was amazing!!!! i don't remember what type of planes these were- but the stunts were pretty cool!!! they simulated an "air fight" i couldn't get a good photo- :( but the announcer said that there are times when pilots fly as close as 1 foot apart!!! can you imagine!!!!

the photo above was pretty funny! the wind was blowing like CRAZY last night....i mean 20-30 mph. so part of the show was cancelled and while we were waiting these geese flew by!!! so funny!! here we had been watching these amazing aerobatics and all of the sudden a flock of goofy geese decide to fly in almost the EXACT flight path!!! the crowd thought it hilarious!!! they did eventually get into a perfect "V" formation, BTW! haha!!
like i said- the wind was pretty crazy!! we were NOT properly attired! i (being a WONDERFUL mommy) sacrificed MY t-shirt that was being used as a blanket- so that MAC could bundle up!!! there were people in sweatshirts and wrapped up in blankets!!! i REALLY need to pay more attention to the weather!!!! i did have the forthought to make MAC wear long pants- though!! {score!}

i don't recall what this is called but our friend David flies one just like it. SOOOO BIG!!! MAC wanted to ride in all of the airplanes!!!
i just thought the paint job here was really cool!!!! its a DRAGON!!!!! if you look closely- there are claws/talons on the wings!!!! Mac liked this one!!!

they also had a night show- where the plane shot FIREWORKS!! so pretty- but not good for taking photos- not with my camers anyway. there was a GLIDER that did the same thing!! it was REALLY pretty! i wish my photos had turned out. they ended the evening with a truck that has been modified with TWO jet engines!!! and he shoots fire works! he ended by shooting up a "wall of fire" probably 1000 feet long!!!! the crowd was amazed!!! this dude holds the world record for the longest "wall of fire" {6000 ft, BTW}

that is how we spent our friday night- how fun!!! MAC and TC were in HEAVEN!! i think TC had more fun than MAC!!! it was so amazing to see, hear, and FEEL the power of these machines and know that they are used to protect our country and our lives!!!! i mean i have seen and heard jets fly by.....but i have NEVER been up close to one...well not while its was in flight anyway. just amazing! they are HUGE!! and OHHHHH are they loud!!! and the pilots that were performing last night are LITERALLY some of the best in the world- a few hold world records for different things! and WE got to go and watch (for free)!!! so if you ever have the opportunity to attend one of these shows GOOOOOO!!! it is worth the experience!!!!

AQUARIUM!!!!!

MAC asked for almost 3 weeks to go to the aquarium! i'm telling you this kid could spend DAYS in them! so we finally took him on Labor Day. it was very nice...not too crowded or hot. he of course couldn't WAIT to get to the sharks! everytime we left an exhibit he would ask "when can we see the sharks?" the photos are a little out of order....


MAC and I in the Aviary Exhibit- they had a TON of different birds milling about. But i like this photo best!!! the STING RAYS!!! oh these are fun!!! we had to drag him away! haha!! we stood there for probably 10 minutes and he still wanted to "pet" them more!!! {we probably would have stayed a little longer- except for the obnoxious kid that ended up standing beside him} MAC ALMOST went swimming with the rays!!! HAHA!!!
i just relaly like this photo!!! kinda creepy! he reminds me of that big shark in Nemo- Bruce...i think is his name! the shark exhibit was the last on in the aquarium....we were standing in a "pretend" submarine- like you are at the bottom of the ocean with the sharks...pretty cool. MAC was luvin the "controls."
Booo- this one didn't trun out very well. MAC and I in from of the Marsh Pavillion. in case you can't tell the statue is of 3 otters...very cool! this was as we were leaving and MAC says:


"we can get a picture w/ Mommy, me, BaBoo, and my bag." i said "don't forget Baby J" he said "oh yeah you too {baby}" haha!!!i thought that was pretty funny!
this was as we were getting in the car at the house {i SAID they were a little out of order}. poor BaBoo- he gets a lot of abuse! haha!

this turtle was pretty crazy. he was so still i couldn't tell that he was real at first!! he had "stuff" hanging off of him. he did eventually move and MAC got pretty excited that he was looking at him!

More sharks! he said " daddy i want to sit and watch the sharks for a little while." that lasted about five minutes.... til he saw the pretend submarine! i'm sure he was telling BaBoo all about the sharks in this photo!

i'm sure we will be frequenting the aquarium....especially since we bought a membership!! haha!! so i'm sure we will have more photos!! all in all it was a fun day!

First trip to the atlantic

the beach we went to is part of a local military base. (less crowded during tourist season) its pretty cool. VERY different than the gulf. at any given time there are dozens of container ships that are leaving the harbor OR coming into the harbor. there are actually sand dunes here! it's really quite pretty! kind of a long walk from the car to the beach {fun with a tired 4 yr old} but very pretty! next tiem we go i will get more photos- although i will most likely get frustrated trying to arrange them on here before i get too many posted!!!! augh!!!


MAC built sandcastles- with his bottom hanging out!!!! it was too funny!!! i HAD to preserve it for posterity sake!!!! he'll thank me when he older!!!


MAC-LITERALLY ran in circles for a while! he was so excited to be out of the house!!! I'm pretty sure the smiles we were getting were masking looks of sympathy for our "poor little unstable boy" -haha!!!

since our first week was spent working around the house. {VERY boring for a certain 4 1/4 yr. old boy} we decided that our our first WEEKEND we would spend some time at he beach!! MAC had SOOOOO much fun!!! he litereally ran in circles half the time!!! haha!! he was so ready to be out of the house!

a few changes!!!

yeah so i tried to change the BACKGROUND and ended up deleting the entire layout of my blog! BOOOOO-OOOOOO!!! of course i did this AFTER i had uploaded some new stuff! augh! i love technology- really i do! {sigh}

so i was going to update about our labor day weekend- complete with photos. however, now i'm tired of sitting in this chair and MAC is begging me to snuggle and watch Nemo. so duty calls!
i PROMISE i will do it soon!!!
