we "caught" a 'wild' chysalis and hatched a butterfly---Optimus:)

i really have no words. this is what he came to the dinner table in one night.

Busted lip....it could have been SOOOOOO bad. he was standing outside a big metal door {@ kungfu}...when one of the older guys {showing off} kicked it open from inside.... the handle hit his face and knocked MAC down. fortunately it didn't TECHNICALLY bust it open...else we probably would have need stitches...but it "swole up" purty good;) BTW,the older guy hasn't shown off anymore:)

i have some more photos...but they will have to wait.....:)

ROAR!!!!

so i SAID we were working on a dinosaur lapbook! a month (ish) later---here's what we did:

this insisde of his lapbook....as you can tell...we down-sized our lapbooks...the butterfly one was LITTLE out of control! but i THINK he enjoyed this one:)

BTW, i did not dress him that day...and we weren't going for a 'larry the cable guy" look...he INSISTED on wearing that vest, with a shirt underneath, wherever we had been...and then INSISTED he was hot;/

We're still here!!!

we have NOT dropped off the planet...but it seems like everyone who reads my blog...keeps up with me via FB...so why double post??
we began our homeschooling adventure a couple fo weeks ago:) well, i HAVE been doing things off and on throughout the summer. so we 'buckled down' the week before labor day. we are using a creation-based curriculum this year...and so far its pretty good. a LOT of it is remedial for mr MAC- and we ALMOST went w/ 1st grade....however, considering his reading ability is non-existent....good thing we went w/ kidergarten. so our curriculum came w/ and Ant hill and butterfly garden...when they arrived is when we kinda started!!!! first we studied ants, then butterflies, and now we are finishing dinorsaurs!! MAC enjoyed and was excited about dinosaurs so i stretched it to 2 wks instead of 1....since i crammed too much information about butterflies into one week....I THINK:) and we don't do everyday...:)

the photos are, of course, in reverse order:( but its about time to begin dinner prep!!!


this was right before we released the butterflies (aka: flier, jebrel, and fred?) i have NO clue what he was saying....but i think it was something about ordering MORE butterflies....i mena, caterpillars.
this little grasshopper got into the house...so we took the opportunity to observe it a little....and to note that grasshoppers are insects...though, this guy had 5 legs:( MAC was TOTALLY hamming it up for the camera!!!

our completed butterfly lapbook. it was fun....i'm pretty sure we BOTH enjoyed it;) even though you see I definitely had a lot to do with the assembly.... most of what is on there are little booklets that contain info about caterpillars/ butterflies:)

while we studied butterflies we studied 'orderliness' 9we were having an issue with cleaning up.

so here we were talking about how God is orderly....and we were arranging the planets in ORDER:) i got these FABULOUS cards @ target and he LOVES them!!! we are visiting the Air& Space Museum in Oct...so we might review our Space lessons:)

here our caterpillars were forming their chrysalis' and he was watching...they really were fun!!! we had 3 out of 5 make it:)

again, the planets...we were just playing around withthem here...again, he is hamming it for the camera!!!!

like i said we STARTED with ants.....we didn't do nearly as much with them as with butterflies....but in this photo he had drawn the parts and labeled SOME of their parts:)

i'm not sure what breed of ant this was supposed to be...but i certainly, would want to run into it EVER!!!!

so we are finishing up on dinosaurs!!! we've had fun!! i'll update when we are done...:)

btw, everyone else is doing great!!! i'll update a btter 'family update'...ehhh...sometime! realisticly, it won't be for a 'few' days:)

he's so funny!!!

our MAC, what are we going to do with him? for those of you who know him; you know he's brilliant, moody, energetic, and HILARIOUS!!! now this may not strike YOU as quite as funny as it did us....but i thought i'd post it anyway.

so everyone knows we are having a little girl!! yay!! first of all MAC, is NOT too thrilled about having a sister. he says baby girls cry too much{?}....this may be an uphill battle.

so, last night, after putting Doodle to bed, MAC, T, and ME were easting our dessert. we began talking about names for the baby. MAC came up with some really stupid ones, ie, fat-face, fat-pones, etc. {rolling eyes} so we explained to him that we put a LOT of time and thought into what we name our children. that we think that names hold special meanings, etc.

so i asked him, "do you knnow what your name(s) means?"
his response? "holding onto a birds feather."
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? HAHAHAH---i thought we were going to fall out of our chairs!!!
so we managed to say "no"
so then he answers, "holding onto a turtle tail?" ROFL!!!!
after T and ME recovered SOME composure...i told him what his names mean.
his response?? "I don't care about THOSE!!!" HAHA!!!!
that was pretty much the end of THAT conversation.
just thought i would share!!!!

we're having a baby.......

its OFFICIALLY A GIRL!!!! YIPEE!!!!!!! i'm not going to post THE shot....but its pretty obvious.....being the veteran of boys sonograms that i am {wink}....

the other shots were kinda fuzzy and not really worth posting...especially after scanning them.

everything looks great. she is a wiggleworm!! {hence, the fuzzy pics} heart rate 148, which i actually slower than either one of the boys....so i'm HOPING that means she will have a lowkey personality!! hahah..... measuring right on @ 19wk 6 days!!! my BP is right on...and i only gained 2 lbs!!! YAY!!!!!!! the scale was my friend---for once!!!

i have sooooo many other photos to post....but they will have to wait!!

life with a 5 yr old boy- oh my!!!

so far (in five years) we have managed to avoid any nasty 'boo-boos".....well,
thank the Lord for angels!! my sweet MAC has quite a nasty "scratch" that COULD have been SOOOOOOO much worse!!! look below:

even though he was TOLD to put down the 4 ft wooden stake (to stake off tomatoes)- and NOT to slide down his slide with it in his hand.....well, you can see the result. he even has a little mark on his earlobe. hopefully next time he will be a little more obedient- and we will faster on our feet!!

hahahaah!!! i LOOOOOVE this photo! he does this almost everytime he plays in the sprinkler!!!

and he always looks stunned after the fact---heehee

my sweet MAC- the day we took this photo he was spraying the hose in the air making rainbows for me, in honor of 'gift day' . he told me "you know why its gift day?? because i love you". my sweet boy!

Family Photos!!!

it has been WAAAAYY to long since this family had a photo session..as in MAC was 1 yr-old. so last week we remedied that!! i am so blessed to have two photographers in my life. my sister is one(she took the boys photos a few weeks ago- they are posted previously)....and my sweet friend Leisha is the other. Leisha INSISTS that she isn't a photographer...but she is.
while visiting b'ham last week we met up for a photo shoot- all 4.5 (bunny is still in the oven) of us!!! i'm SOOOOO pleased with the way the photos turned out!!

one of my favorites is currently the header for this blog! there is NO telling what i was laughing at- T was in rare form that day and who knows what he said!!!

i'm not sure what they were looking at...but i love this one~~

MAC was LOVING the creek....this was before he slipped!

yeah, we weren't quite as comfortable in front of the camera as the boys were...

a family shot! poor doodle bug looks a little stunned....but he's teething...

ooooh yeah!!! flying and being bounced- what more could a 7 mo old ask for?

Leisha even managed to get MAC to smile!!! this is a rarity in photos!! well, unless you count the goofy smiles I usually get.

a few photos

my sweet, talented, sister did a photo shoot of her two FAVORITE nephews while we were visiting her a couple of weeks ago!! they turned out REALLY well- most of them anyway!
my goal was to get one of each of the boys and one together....i think she accomplished that!!!
we were able to get some family photos done today- i'll post those when i get them. well, soemtime soon anyway!

Baby Update

sweet little bunny's first photo session! :) 10 wk 6d and can already TALK?! amazing ;)
these last ones are actually backward....but j-doodle is waking from his slumber and i don't have time to re-load.

MAC- being a GOOBER while waiting for the ultrasound- what am i going to do with him?? haha!he was excited though. :)

so for all of my THRONGS of loyal followers-- and those who don't do facebook---

thought i would update on 'Bunny' :)

went to new dr. yesterday. really liked him- YAY!!! and returned today for an ultrasound- again, YAY!!!

i will be 11wks tomorrow...so we are set for approx 12/30.

BUT they will schedule me for a few days before that for a repeat c-section. i will have to wait until my visit in july to set an exact date.

either way you look at it, Christmas is going to be VERY interesting this year!! i guess i should shop early,huh??

anyway, the boys {obviously} went with me....daddy had a meeting and couldn't get out of it on such short notice :(

j-doodle- was NOT impressed. he actually HOWLED when she turned the lights off! OY!!!

MAC- was a little more excited. but still kinda weirded out by the whole thing. when we got back in the car, the first thing he asked was "what was that STUFF they put on your tummy??" {hee-hee}

SOOOOO much to catch up on!!!

we have been soooo busy lately! i haven't taken so many photos!! i know that i will never catch up! i have easter photos, MAC's b'day, Aquarium trips, Military tatoo's, etc. but i tsuppose i will begin with these :

to address the common questions:

1. no, your eyes are NOT playing tricks on you

2. YES! we do know what causes these kinds of situations

3. still early- working on the due date...probably beginning to mid january {i'm only about 5 wks}

4. don't really care if it is a boy or a girl. {seriously}

5. we are calling him/her Bunny- mainly because Easter was about "the" time.

6. i return on the 18th for a sonogram.

7. no, we weren't 'trying'

8. God DEFINITELY has a sense of humor ;)
