SERIOUSLY?!

i thought that good old james was joking when he said that we would get snow!! and at 800 this morning i thought "yup, I was right- no snow" then the hubby called from out of town to ask what the weather was like...i said "WET!" he said...."just wait". so i went back to sleep....hahaha! its saturday!!! so my brother calls TWO HOURS LATER and asks if we are okay "since its the end of the world y'know"....i said "has it snowed?" "YEAH!!!! have you not looked outside?"well sure enought it was so pretty and white!!! i yelled to MAC to go look out the window----i hear him run accross the living room....and he goes "GASP! SNNNNNOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!
can we go play in it??? " well after he thought about it for a minute...he said it would be too cold (OY). so i told him that we had better play in it ASAP cuz it would be gone soon. so, of course, we couldn't get out fast enough! he was nearly frantic that the snow would be gone by the time we got out there!! we really only got a dusting and there was only enough on the cars and the wooden deck to play with. but it was fun anyway!! it has been YEARS since i got to play in the snow...and he has ever seen it! poor little guy! we threw a few snowballs...mostly at the dog!! and since MAC had no intereest in building a snow man...he built "the north pole- since thats where snow lives." (that was the explaination i got) so we had fun! it snowed for about 2 hrs...and we played in it for about 45 mintes...after mommy put on a 2nd pr. of gloves and my fingers still felt like they were going to fall off....i convinced MAC that i couldn't make anymore snowballs and it was time to go inside. here are a few photos!

its a miracle!!

wow people! we have had two major milestones in 24 hrs.

first milestone: last night MAC was actually "so de-sited!!"(excited) to have someone come baby sit!! he all but PUSHED me out of the door! "by mom! i love you!" AND -this is HUGE- he let her put him to BED!!!!!!! AUGH!!!! there is a GOD!! well, he cried for 45 minutes; still we counted it as a victory. the last time (when my sis) came to babysit and she tried to put him to bed he SCREAMED "YOU can't put me to BED!!!" with a horrified look on him face- and proceeded to cry until we got home. haha! last night he was sound asleep when we arrived home. so we got to have a nice date night....and we know who to call next time- (thanks SP!)

second milestone: his first day of pre-school was today. my sweet angel was " so de-sited!!!"

he ate his breakfast and we got dressed. he did some yoga with me! hahaha!! y'all it was priceless!! i wish i could get him on camera doing it! at the end he was sitting cross legged- with his hands together in "prayer posture" repeated some of the words: Calm, alive.... it was absolutely precious. we actually got in the car ON TIME!!! with no major fits!!!

he got a little nervous when we driving there...so we said a prayer that he would have good day and not be scared. yesterday, we watched a show where the little boy got stage fright. his teacher told him to "take a deep breath and then blow it away" so MAC and I did that a couple of time...(and a few more prayers to Jesus) the last time he said " mommy, i'm not scared now!!" (thanks to Little Bill!! haha) i had to walk him in. he didn't want to go in his classroom (there were teachers standing outside the door)--too many people! but then he saw the toys!!! he made a beeline! no tears!!! we'll see how the pick-up process goes. i'm so proud of him! he's getting to be so big.

my little helper!

i just love his age- some days!! he is such a willing little helper-SOME DAYS!!

so the other day i was taking towels out of the dryer and folding them.....<.most of you are aware that is something i NEVER do. i'm one of those people that would wear (clean) clothes that have been in the baskets for days IF i had a room dedicated solely to this purpose!!!> back to the story....so i'm taking them out and MAC sees that they are warm!! so he has to SMELL that they are warm!!!! ROFL!!!!! he is such a sensory kid!!! so he's going on and on about how "warm they smell"....so while he is basking in the ecstacy i ask him to put the cloths and hand towels away in the closet. THIS is the result of my sweet little angel's help. I JUST FOUND so funny when i found the results!!

look out world!!!

it may be a sign of the apocolypse!! AC has entered the blog world. i know its scary! haha!!! alright for those of you who know me, you KNOW i am NOT going to be to do this daily. i will attempt weekly. however, no one should hold their breath, ok?
i said i wouldn't do this...but so many friends (you know who you are) have blogs! i love to read them! they make me laugh so hard some days! i was feeling a little left out so jsut a couple of words of warning:
1) i am a TERRIBLE typist. so be on the lookout for MANY typos.
2) i'm not so great with the punctuation.
3) since i am a terrible typist- i rarely capitalize....i know its irritating.
4) i doubt there will be much interesting to say....but we will see!!!
5) since the hubby is not keen on the info on the web thing...there are some things that don't match up- like the fact that i don't live in Belize- wishful thinking!
so on that note-------

funny things he says!

so this kid of mine- he's so funny some days!
in recent weeks we have gotten to a wonderful point in childhood.
you know- there one where the the 3 3/4 yr. old can get up and get his breakfast out of the fridge (breakfast consists of cereal bar or two, nuts, cheese and juice). so once i give the okay for him to get out of bed...wait...FIRST every morning he wakes be saying "can i get up now?" 5 secs. later: "MOM!!!! CAN I GET UP NOOOOOOOW?" to which i reply "hummphashs"....so the he goes in gets the breakfast and presses the red smiley face (oh yes i thought this through) on the tv....and presto!! Noggin appears...AND more importantly- mommy (the night owl) gets to sleep until.....
so this has been going on for a few weeks....well of course he doesn't follow the "don't take food in the living room" or "your juice stays in the kitchen" rules. so this morning i actually got out of bed BEFORE he woke-up (a peaceful yoga time-YES!). so after he watches a couple of minutes of tv and i am about to get in the shower.....
he looks at me and says:
"mommy...can you go back to bed now?" as he looks back and forth between the "bars" and the door...
AC -"why?"
MAC- "you need to go take a rest"
AC- "what? why do i need to take a rest?"
MAC-" you just need to go take a rest so you will feel better."
AC- "ummm-hmm...so do i need to take a rest so that you can take your bar into the living room?"
MAC "yes m'am"
i couldn't believe the little RAT!!! of course he says things like this all the time....but he never ceases to amaze me!! ha!
so while i am in the shower i ask him to feed the dog- which he does (are those angels singing? i only had to ask once!!)
when i get out i go into the kitchen and find "baby tapir" ( go diego go!) sitting on the table with apple juice poured into his bowl i call MAC and ask
"what were wee doing here?"
MAC- "i feed him too! and he was thirsty so i gave him some apple juice to help him feel better!" he was so proud with himself and being so sweet about it that i just assked him to "clean" it up and try not to make such a mess the next time.
so we continue to get ready to leave the house. we were going to a play date with some friends.
it has been really cold here the last few days. so he says
"are you wearing your gloves, mommy?"
AC "yes i am"
MAC "not those gloves mommy!!! you need to get the ones that daddy bought you from lowes!"
the ones from lowes were a christmas present of gardening gloves!! hahahah!!! i suppose i will hav eot explian how the hubby got away with THAT gift in another post!
